Gamer's dream, weak's horror

"I am the guide dog, Kurai. It's a pleasure to at last meet the heroes of this world." He bowed his head, then rolled over on his back when everyone started petting him like a "good dog" would. He didn't particularly like leaving his belly exposed, but he had to gain their trust somehow, so he wagged his tail and panted like the sweet little puppy he appeared to be.

"Guide dog?" Luke repeated. "Like that annoying fairy? You're not going to bother us about every little thing, are you?"

Haseo narrowed his eyes. Something wasn't right about that dog. It was being much to friendly, like a certain nut job from The World he knew all to well (Damn Sakaki, damn him to hell). That certain person--Sakaki--had seemed extremely friendly to his girlfriend, and he knew all to well how that "friendship" had ended.

He drew his guns and pointed one directly at the dog's head. "I don't trust this thing. If it was our "guide," shouldn't it have greeted us before those freaky AIs?"

Haseo was actually speechless at Konata's comment, but that didn't last long. "What do you mean, I don't play enough video games?! This character is from a video game! I'm the famous Terror of Death! You don't get titles like that from not playing video games!"

Kurai bowed his head. "I'm sure she meant no offense, Haseo-sama. She probably plays more adventure games than you, where you are given a guide. Perhaps your game has no such thing?"

Luke hugged the dog. "He's so cute!" Animals were Luke's favorite thing, even before puzzles. "And he's smart! We should keep him around. He'll probably be super helpful."

"Oh yeah, you were so deprived as a kid," Haseo sneered. "I've only never had a pet and parents who banned me from video games all my life."

Kuro sighed. "Well, if we are all in agreement, we should probably continue on the quest."
