Ouran High School Host Club

I need a place to rant about the dub. Those that have heard it, please join in.

Now, first off. I like all the voices. They sound pretty good. But...

Vic could have done soooooo much better with Tamaki, in my opinion (sorry, vic, but i'm speaking the truth.). At times he made Tamaki sound really good, and other were just like, "holy sh*t, that was horrible." But for the most part, I think it sounds alright. Still can't imagine him being Kyoya much though....

Onto Kyoya now. I only heard a small bit of him (one sentance). But I like it for the most part. Sounds good, I hope to hear more of him. Great going, Jay! (i believe that's his name) ^_^

Next are the twins, Hikaru & Kaoru. I adore the voices! They might be pretty easy to tell apart at times, but I like both of them. Todd and Greg did an awesome job!, in my opinion.

What not to say about Hunny? All the voice actors were right when they said that Lucy did a great job with Hunny's voice, which she did. But he sounds toooooo girly. And hearing his voice now all girly and such, makes me wonder if he'll sound any different when he's pissed and kicking ass. The voice is cute and adorable, just like Hunny is. I think it should be less girl sounding, though.

Couldn't hear Mori, but I'm sure Travis did fine. I mean, how can you screw up with Mori? He barely talks!

Haruhi. Out of them all, I complain about her the most. Yes, Caitlin did a great job, and the way she sounds is pretty good. But she sounds too much like a guy (Haruhi and Hunny have a simular problem). It's a little too low for Haruhi, and should've been a little higher. >.<

Okay, there's my ranting! Overall though, I think the dub will be OKAY. Not amazing, but okay. Hopefully my thought will change through out the series.

Now, rant on about the series in general. Dub or Sub. I don't care.

Can't stand Tamaki's.

I have to admit, the dub doesn't seem like anything special. Unless, of course, the voices improve by the release.

yeah, it was recorded at otakon, which confuses me because otakon was like.....august 13th, but it wasn't supposed to premiere until last weekend. eh, whatever.....

i could hear most of the voices pretty well, actually. so........yeah.

see, i knew you wouldn't like it, sailor. v_v i didn't like tamaki's voice much at first either, but after listening and watching it a thousand times, i'm got use to it. as for the twins.....i still adore the twins.

i'll still probably still like tamaki no matter what
but i might not get over the fact the Hikaru is supposed to sound like Lavi

same. but honestly, i'm just happy that it's officially dubbed and everything! the first part of the series, episodes 1-13, will be releaced, with a mini 2009 calender that i want, october 28th!

XD yeah.........same here........maybe todd will end up being the VA for Lavi in the upcoming dub, this 2009! that would be pretty cool, actually...........

oh god, same here! i would be rollin' around on the freakin' floor (like i did when i heard vic's voice for femio in princess tutu. XD that was great.....beyond great..)

overall...THE TWINS ARE AMAZERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *i love the twins, and hikaru is my favorite* But I'm just glad that my favorite characters were dubbed the best *in my personal opinion*

..........i'm still not completely pleased with how vic did as tamaki............i mean, it's OKAY....but it should be deeper or something.........

*pants* sorry about that... and yeah. Tamaki's voice does kinda suck... But once I got used to it it was okay. I think it should have been deeper. Hunni-sempai sounded like Shippo!

See! I told you people it would sound better! (well, i thought it sounded a lot better than that preview with all the stupid voices in the back). you basically, you only hear Tamaki (mainly Tamaki) and Haruhi a little, and I heard Mori gasp a little. But in my opinion, Vic did great! So.......yeah. Oh, and Haruhi sounds semi-different, but in a good way. =D

Well, I think it's going to be a GREAT dub! Well, that's what I think, at least. ^_^

yeah haruhi acctually sounds like a girl now instead of an inbetween like she does in japanese (along with allen from DGM)

and tamaki does sound better than in that crap version
im still not sure if Vic can match up to the original Tamaki

i'm not completely sure either, but i'm gonna believe in him, damn it!

Half way through, Vic explains why Tamaki's voice is the way it is. AND he bascially says what I've been trying to tell people (stares at Hanyou & Sailor).

Amazing.

I can't tell you how happy I am that we have the same opinion. Of course....his counts more because, well, he's the actual VA.

i love funimation.............and it's actually pretty good for the most part.

You get used to Haruhi's boyish voice, still good. Tamaki's voice isn't usually all that bad (quite good in some places). Kyoya's a little deeper, but good. Hunny's just adorable, but a little too girly at times, but still adorable. Twins sound a little different, but they're really great. Mori.........haven't really heard him yet..........still........but i'm sure he's fine.
