Cyrus was working diligently on one his mechanical lungs that he would one day have to insert into himself. So far he had constructed a robotic heart, stomach and right lung. He was working on the left one, which yielded to be a challenge because it had to fit the heart right behind it so it had to be smaller yet still efficient. A knock came at the door of his work room and a messenger dressed in red and gold gave him a folder, saying it was a new mission.

Cyrus nodded his head and thanked the man as he put down his soldering tools and opened it to find out what the new mission was. It was a scouting mission from Autumn Falls Court Council. the details of the mission was to scout ahead of a caravan that carried a princess and double check if the path was cleared. The pay was 65,000 gold. Not bad he thought to himself and he packed away his equipment. He looked at his Lung and noticed that some of the mythril wires were burned from the solder. Cyrus sighed and said to himself, "I'll go talk to Luke and get some more wire."

Cyrus picked up his black pistol, cocked it, sheathed it, hung his lance on his back and threw his tattered white cloak, which draped down to his knees over himself. He left the guild hall and made his way into town. Cyrus walked into Luke's store and saw he was busy with two younger ladies. Cyrus leaned his back up against the stores front window and waited for Luke to finish up with current customers.

"It is ok I still have a lot of money don't worry" she said walking over to the man and said politely "Hello sir i am sorry to bother you but do you have any traveling supplies." Victoria bowed she sensed this mans spirit and energy flowing through him.She then sensed another mans presents and looked over to him he had mage energy in him she could feel a chill of the water partials in the air.

"Of course, Miss," Luke replied, flashing his best smile. He pointed to the things to the left-most end of his stand. "Feel free to take your time." He'd noticed Cyrus patiently waiting for him. Whenever the mechanic was around, Luke was guarrenteed to make a pretty penny.

"So, what can I get fer ya, Cyrus?" he asked. He then leaned forward and said, "I'll even give ya a discount," so that Victoria and Zephyr couldn't hear.

Victoria thanked the man and walked over to the supplies and grabbed a rope matches and some other things that would help them on there journey she also bought some charms this would take about half of what she had just made but it was worth it. "Do you think this is all we will need" she said to Zephyr the man talking to Luke intrigued her.

Zephyr went through a mental list of things they could possibly need. Victoria had everything they could need. Only one thing came to mind. "Do you suppose our employers will supply food?" she asked. They were, after all, escorting a princess.

Cyrus laughed to himself at Luke's offer and he came off of the window and up to the counter. "Hey Luke. I need a spool of Mythril Wire for sure." He thought for a minute if he needed anything else for either his mission or anything else he needed for his current project that could fit in one of his belt pouches. "Actually." Cyrus added when the thought came to him, " I also need a sheet of carbon fiber membrane, 8 inch by 21 inch. Plus..." Cyrus drew his pistol, twirled it and set it on the counter to show Luke his model, "I need five magazines of those Flash Freeze bullets. I'm going on a mission today."

She nodded "More or less but I suppose we could by some" she said grabbing some food she then said "I think we are done now" she said taking out the money they would need. She then waited for Luke to be finished with the man called Cyrus. Victoria's purple eyes twinkled at the charms she bought these would help the decaying of her body she only had a pale hand not numb just pale but soon it would go numb.

Luke turned and took the various things from his wares behind the counter. "Big spender, aren't we?" he laughed. "That'll be..." he did the mental calculations, "8,000 gold, but I suppose money won't be an issue fer ya after yer mission." He winked. He'd just scraped 1,000 gold off the top of the purchase for Cyrus. After all, the boy had helped him plenty of times when his cart broke down and always bought quite a bit.

He turned to Victoria. "Ah, are you finished? Hold on a moment, okay? We'll be done in a few."

Victoria nodded she for some odd reason felt comfortable with all these people which was unlike her. She wondered what the princess looked like and she knew the territory they would be going through she used to live there with the wolves so they would be ok if they were attacked she had the animals as backup if necessary.

Cyrus threw back his cloak to reveal his ragged black outfit, a belt with all sorts of light equipment and belt pouches, and his mechanical hand. The metal on his hand on traveled up his wrist about 2 inches but there was very pale spots around the edge of the metal; he was going to have to operate on himself in a few weeks and add another quarter inch of robotics if the missions kept up like this . He pulled out two sacks of coins that hung off his belt with his right and placed them on the counter for his stuff; his hand clicked and whirled softly as the fingers moved.

"That should cover it. And yeah, this one should bring a lot of gold." he said to Luke as he slipped the spool into one of his pouches, rolled up the carbon fiber membrane and the folded the roll in half and slipped that into another pouch. As he slipped the magazines in slots on the back of his belt, he listened them talk about their mission. Once Cyrus was don situating himself, he took his pistol back, sheathed it, and then bowed to the two ladies. "Please excuse me misses." he said politely as he bowed, "I hope your mission goes well. It's always an pleasure to meet other mages."

With that, Cyrus replaced his cloak around him and casually strolled out of the store.

"Hope I see ya when ya get back!" Luke called to Cyrus. He then turned to Victoria. "Sorry for the wait. So, how may I help you?" He smiled at Zephyr behind Victoria and was shocked to find that there was something more to the smile than simple friendliness.

Dammit, she's just a kid! he scolded himself. Cute, kind, and whatever else that made her attractive to him had to be pushed aside. She was a customer. A young customer that he was too old for.

Victoria said "We would like to buy these items" she said setting the items down "This should cover it " she handed him the correct amount that they needed. She then said "I hope this is the right amount right Sir."

"Thank you" she said walking out of the store "Zephyr come we have to hurry or we will be attacked by our so called fans" she said rushing down the road she whistled and her horse came along with another white horse "I hope you know how to ride" she said getting onto her horse with the lantern there with her it was still dark sunrise would come soon.

"I know a little, but it has been quite some time since I've ridden." She mounted the horse a little clumsily, but she at least knew what to do from there. She waited to follow Victoria. After all, it was Victoria's horse, and it would probably want to follow its master.

Cyrus put his right hand in the air and waved at Luke as he left the store. as he left he thought to himself, Ok, Autumn Falls is north of here. he started walking north and eventually he was able to hitch a ride up the mountain on a wagon. the ride was about 3 hours long and when the wagon was passing the princess's castle, he thanked the driver for the ride and jumped off. It was night time already and the castle was lit up brilliantly. He brushed himself off and then walked up to the castle to see the caravan was out front waiting to depart.

Cyrus walked up to the men at the first buggy, bowed and then said, "So how long until we depart?"

One of the men answered him., "we're waiting on two mages from another guild to show up first. once they get here we'll have you go ahead first while we make the final prep work.

Cyrus blinked three times simutaniously and then paraphrased, "two other mages?" His thoughts went back to the other mages in the store and he though, Don't tell me its those two young ladies from Luke's store.

Victoria nodded "Hold onto to Twilight she is very fast" she said pulling on the ranees of her horse signaling it to go fast. She had put all the items in the bag she had they went fast Victoria's hood was down and she had her hair fluttering around. They go to the meeting spot in about a half an hour they made it about 10 minutes after Cyrus you could her the galloping sound coming from the path way of the woods from the castle she slowed down and they had now made it to the castle looking at the guard her purple eyes sparkling like always. (Night see you in the morning)

As Cyrus waited for the other mages, he moved away from the caravan and he drew his lance and started swinging it to warm himself up if indeed, he would run into anyone while he was scouting. After about 10 minutes of warming up, he heard the sound of gallops coming from the forest, Oh good, he thought, that must be the other mages. He sheathed his lance and then walked towards the gallops to greet the others. He stopped when he saw it was, in fact, the two young ladies from Luke's store. As the came up to him he smirked and then said, "Well now, long time no see. If i would have known that our missions intertwined, I would have ridden with you."

One of the men ran up to Cyrus and handed him a map, an Illumination Crystal and a flare gun. "Take these" the man said to Cyrus, "signal us with the flare if you spot any suspicious activity ahead of the road. You'll be paid once the princess reaches her destination."

Cyrus nodded his head and took the equipment and said to the man, "Give my regards to the princess for me." as the guard ran back to the caravan, Cyrus turned back to the two mages, bowed again and said, "I must be off. Good luck on your end. I'll do my best to make your job easier." with that Cyrus stuck the flare gun on his belt, unrolled the map and then activated the Illumination crystal and started trotting down the path that the princess would be taking.

Victoria smiled as she saw him "Yes stay well on your part as well" she felt a pump in her chest she got off her horse and looked over at Zephyr "Are you ok" she said looking at her then she heard men yelling the princess was coming as they waited for her to come the men told them they had to stay alert because there were many men after her. The princess came and told them both she was grateful for them escorting her she was to be married to a man to unit there kingdoms in an alliance. She got in her carriage and they all left on there way to the mountains.

About 20 minutes later, Cyrus continued to walk along the dark, dirt road slowly as he held of the crystal to light up the area. "It seems like this mission was a dud." he said to himself as he looked around for any signs of anything that was suspicious.

Cyrus jumped up into a tree and then clambered up to the top and looked around the area. He could see the caravan was finally on the move but still didn't see anything. "Maybe there might not be any enemies." he said again to himself. Cyrus figured that if there was going to be any threat, they would have been along this path by now and would have sprung the trap on him by mistake. he squinted hard to see if he could see any large amount of rustling in the trees since the wind was basically dead this night: none.

Cyrus jumped down from his perch and continued on with the Illumination crystal above his head and looked for any enemies.

Mei smirked. "It would be an honor to work with you, sir." She told him, small flames dancing around her hands in aticipation. She clenched her fists, effectively snuffing them.

"Who are we to be 'taking care' of?" She asked, excited that she'd be able to do a mission with her leader.

((Sorry for not posting, was waiting for Hanyo to post so we could head out of guild HQ))

Vincent smiled evily at the chance to se some action. "We're to assassinate a princess, I've sent scouts ahead to assess the strength of the guards and get a general feel for the area." he casually brushed his long black hair behind his ears as he spoke. "We must hurry, if we don't leave soon, we might miss the caravan. The employer forgot to mention in his paperwork where exactly the princess was to be going." He walked smoothly back to his desk and retrieved his traveling cloak and his pack from beneath his desk. "Let us be off." he said to Mei as he picked up his twin knives from a secret drawer in his desk. "The scouts should have finished their mission by now." They both leaft the guild headquarters and started trecking towards their destination, but managed to catch a ride on a trade caravan headding to that area. They arrived at the randevous point and found the scouts there waiting patiently in the small clearing.

"Alright, i want a full report, complete with enemy strength, possible ambush points, and the position of our target in the caravan." The scouts began bussily reporting all the information they had gathered, including the fact that there were 2 escort mages from the Fairy Tale guild, and what looked to be a scout in the advanced stages of magical decay. "Ok, we'll set up our ambush right here, exactly 1 kilometer away from the castle. That way they can't call for backup from the castle guard and it will be too late for them to turn around." he nodded with satisfaction before continuing. "You six will take up flanking positions in the trees to the right and left of the caravan, and when I give the signal You are to cut off their escape route with magical barriers and inflict as much panic as possible. Then Mei and I will break through and kill the princess." He re-examined his plans and sternly nodded his approval. "I will summon a howler goul to give the signal, so be ready when you hear it."He stood up, brushing some imainary dust off his cloak, and ordered the scouts to take their positions and to not under any sircumstances be found. "Come Mei, we need to get ready at our positions too." he said as he fluidly walked into the forrest with his black cloak billowing out behind him.

Zephyr listened hard as they went. Any threat that approached them would have a sound carried on the wind. Her ears were sensitive, and with a bit of magic, she could tell instantly what was coming from where. So far, there was nothing but the caravan and Cyrus on the edges of her range of hearing--nothing dangerous. Then she heard twigs cracking and heavy breathing.

"A bear," she muttered to herself once she recognized the sound. It had probably been sleeping and simply rolled over. She opened her eyes and looked at Victoria. "Many of the animals are asleep right now. I should be able to hear any possible threats before they get too close," she informed her partner. It was best to make sure Victoria knew what was within Zephyr's power, since they had to work together.

"The animals will not harm us as long as I am around" no one really knew why other than Victoria everyone always thought she had grown up with the man that she lived with when she only really spent half of her life there. She could here wolves around they knew she was here and they would protect her and who she wanted to be safe.

Zephyr nodded. If Victoria said so, she knew it was the truth. That's when she heard a twig up ahead snap. It wasn't Cyrus's now familiar footsteps, nor was it an animal. The sound could only have been made by a human. The question was: was that human friendly.

"Victoria," Zephyr said quickly. "Someone is up ahead of us."
