The Anime, Manga, and RPG High School V 2.0

Karin led Allen outside into the damp air. It smelled like rain, but it seemed the weather would hold for her plan. Best of all, no one else would come outside into the courtyard for fear of getting wet. "Sorry, it's too crowded inside." She glanced around for any sign of her sister as she pulled a bento from her bag and handed it to Allen, who started snarfing it down as soon as she'd given it to him.

There. A bat. It was hanging in the tree, watching them patiently despite it being midday. That would do.

Allen gulped down the food and went for more, only to realize that he'd already devoured everything in the tray. "I'm sorry," Allen said, feeling his cheeks redden. "I didn't mean to eat it all, but it was so..."

He trailed off when Karin pulled him into an embrace. His face lit up even more. "M-Maaka-san?" Her body felt so warm against his. What was going on?

He let out a small cry of pain as he felt something pierce his neck. He'd felt this before, when Krory bit him. Oh God, she's a vampire. Allen tried to activate his Innocence but found he couldn't because his whole body was paralyzed. That was just great. How was he supposed to stop her from sucking him dry? It wasn't until he felt a strange pressure that he realized she wasn't sucking his blood but injecting something instead. He felt dizzy and struggled to stay concious. It was futile. He soon went limp in her arms.

The bat flew down as Karin released Allen's limp form and landed on the boy's face. A few minutes later, it flew off with its mission completed. Allen wouldn't remember a thing.

Karin sighed happily. Finally the pressure was gone. Now she just had to sneak inside, find the adult that was in charge, and tell him or her that Allen fainted. She stood and did just that, eventually finding Light. "Um... Sensei? Allen-kun fainted."

Zidane patiently waited for Lenalee's friends. He'd have to get along with them, it seemed. Not that he minded. It was just that they weren't hot chicks.

"Outside. We were eating lunch and he just collapsed." Karin was doing her est to sound panic-stricken, to seem like she had no idea the cause of his fainting.

"I-I think so," Karin stuttered. She knew he'd be fine--better than fine--once he woke up, but she had to pretend she had no idea what was going on. "H-he ate all of my lunch, though, so maybe he ate too much and fell asleep?" It was her only excuse.

Zidane raised an eyebrow at her. She couldn't be serious, could she?

"Eh? Uh, no. I-I think I'll stay here." It was always awkward being around those she just bit, and so she'd be staying right here. "I-I don't really like infirmaries."

There was something up with that Karin girl, but Zidane had learned by now not to jump to conclusions. So he simply went to comforting Lenalee. "He looks fine. He probably just fell asleep or something after stuffing his face. I once had a friend who did that. Slept for three hours after eating a whole boar by himself."
